Effects of organic acids on Cd adsorption and desorption by two anthropic soils

摘要: The objective of this experiment was to study the effects of malic, tartaric, oxalic, and citric acid on the adsorption and desorption characteristics of Cd by two typical anthropic soils (lou soil and irrigation-silted soil) in North-west China. Cadmium adsorption and desorption were studied under a range of temperatures (25°C, 30°C, 35°C, 40°C), organic acid concentrations (0.5–5.0 mmol·L ), and pH values (2–8). The results showed that the Cd adsorption capacity of the lou soil was significantly greater than that of the irrigation-silted soil. Generally, Cd adsorption increased as the temperature increased. In the presence of NaNO , the adsorption of Cd was endothermic with Δ values of 31.365 kJ·mol for lou soil and 28.278?kJ·mol for irrigation-silted soil. The endothermic reaction indicated that H bonds were the main driving force for Cd adsorption in both soils. However, different concentrations of organic acids showed various influences on the two soils. In the presence of citric acid, chemical adsorption and van der Waals interactions were the main driving forces for Cd adsorption rather than H bonds. Although the types of organic acids and soil properties were different, the effects of the organic acids on the adsorption and desorption of Cd were similar in the two soils. The adsorption percentage of Cd generally decreased as organic acid concentrations increased. In contrast, the adsorption percentage increased as the pH of the initial solution increased. The exception was that adsorption percentage of Cd increased slightly as oxalic acid concentrations increased. In contrast, the desorption percentage of Cd increased with increasing concentrations of organic acids but decreased as the initial solution pH increased.

Sorption and desorption of pymetrozine on six Chinese soils

摘要: Pymetrozine is a selective insecticide with a unique chemical structure and mode to control hemipteran and homopteran. While pymetrozine has brought great benefits to crop production by killing insects, its residues in soil may have a detrimental effect on environment. Therefore, it is of great importance to investigate its behaviors in soil. In this study, the sorption and desorption of pymetrozine on six Chinese soils were investigated using a batch equilibrium approach to understand its mobile behavior in the soils. Both sorption and desorption isotherms of pymetrozine were in good agreement with the Freundlich model. The sorption coefficient varied between 3.37 and 58.32 mL?g and the sorption isotherms were nonlinear, with 1/ ranging from 0.57 to 0.91. A regression equation was proposed to predict the sorption of pymetrozine on six different soil samples: log = 4.3708 − 4.5709 × log (pH in 0.01mol·L CaCl ) + 0.4700 × log OC% + 0.0057 × sand (%) + 0.0022 × CEC(clay), with = 0.9982. The organic carbon content of soil positively affected the sorption of pymetrozine, but soil pH had a negative effect on the sorption. Additionally, effects of CaCl concentration, soil to solution ratio and pesticide form were investigated. The sorption was promoted with an increase in soil to solution ratio and a decrease in CaCl concentration. The possible variation of the five formulated products of pymetrozine was also investigated.

Contribution of black carbon to nonlinearity of sorption and desorption of acetochlor on sediment

摘要: In order to investigate the contribution of various black carbon (BC) contents to nonlinearity of sorption and desorption isotherms for acetochlor on sediment, equilibrium sorption and desorption isotherms were determined to measure sorption and desorption of acetochlor in sediment amended with various amounts of BC. In this paper, two types of BC referred to as BC400 and BC500 were prepared at 400°C and 500°C, respectively. Higher preparation temperature facilitated the formation of micropores on BC to enhance its sorption capacity. Increase of the BC content obviously increased the sorption amount and reduced the desorption amount for acetochlor. When the BC500 contents in total organic carbon (TOC) increased from 0 to 60%, Freundlich sorption coefficient ( ) increased from 4.07 to 35.74, and desorption hysteresis became gradually obvious. When the content of BC in TOC was lower than 23%, the sorption isotherm had a significant linear correlation ( = 0.05). In case of desorption, a significant nonlinear change could be observed when the content of BC was up to 13%. Increase of BC content in the sediment would result in shifting the sorption-desorption isotherms from linearity to nonlinearity, which indicated that contribution of BC to nonlinear adsorption fraction became gradually remarkable.

Competitive adsorption and desorption of copper and lead in some soil of North China

摘要: The competitive adsorption and desorption of Pb(II) and Cu(II) ions in the soil of three sites in North China were investigated using single and binary metal solutions with 0.01 mol·L CaCl as background electrolyte. The desorption isotherms of Pb(II) and Cu(II) were similar to the adsorption isotherms, which can be fitted well by Freundlich equation ( >0.96). The soil in the three sites had greater sorption capacities for Pb(II) than Cu(II), which was affected strongly by the soil characteristics. In the binary metal solution containing 1∶1 molar ratio of Pb(II) and Cu(II), the total amount of Pb(II) and Cu(II) adsorption was affected by the simultaneous presence of the two metal ions, indicating the existence of adsorption competition between the two metal ions. Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy was used to investigate the interaction between soil and metal ions, and the results revealed that the carboxyl and hydroxyl groups in the soil were the main binding sites of metal ions.

摘要: Metal oxide nanoparticles like hydrated ferric oxide (HFO) or hydrated zirconium oxide (HZrO) are excellent sorbents for environmentally significant ligands like phosphate, arsenic, or fluoride, present at trace concentrations. Since the sorption capacity is surface dependent for HFO and HZrO, nanoscale sizes offer significant enhancement in performance. However, due to their miniscule sizes, low attrition resistance, and poor durability they are unable to be used in typical plug-flow column setups. Meanwhile ion exchange resins, which have no specific affinity toward anionic ligands, are durable and chemically stable. By impregnating metal oxide nanoparticles inside a polymer support, with or without functional groups, a hybrid nanosorbent material (HNM) can be prepared. A HNM is durable, mechanically strong, and chemically stable. The functional groups of the polymeric support will affect the overall removal efficiency of the ligands exerted by the Donnan Membrane Effect. For example, the removal of arsenic by HFO or the removal of fluoride by HZrO is enhanced by using anion exchange resins. The HNM can be precisely tuned to remove one type of contaminant over another type. Also, the physical morphology of the support material, spherical bead versus ion exchange fiber, has a significant effect on kinetics of sorption and desorption. HNMs also possess dual sorption sites and are capable of removing multiple contaminants, namely, arsenate and perchlorate, concurrently.

Effect of textural property of coconut shell-based activated carbon on desorption activation energy of

摘要: In this work, the effect of the textural property of activated carbons on desorption activation energy and adsorption capacity for benzothiophene (BT) was investigated. BET surface areas and the textural parameters of three kinds of the activated carbons, namely SY-6, SY-13 and SY-19, were measured with an ASAP 2010 instrument. The desorption activation energies of BT on the activated carbons were determined by temperature-programmed desorption (TPD). Static adsorption experiments were carried out to determine the isotherms of BT on the activated carbons. The influence of the textural property of the activated carbons on desorption activation energy and the adsorption capacity for BT was discussed. Results showed that the BET surface areas of the activated carbons, SY-6, SY-13 and SY-19 were 1106, 1070 and 689 mg, respectively, and their average pore diameters were 1.96, 2.58 and 2.16 nm, respectively. The TPD results indicated that the desorption activation energy of BT on the activated carbons, SY-6, SY-19 and SY-13 were 58.84, 53.02 and 42.57 KJ/mol, respectively. The isotherms showed that the amount of BT adsorbed on the activated carbons followed the order of SY-6 > SY-19 > SY-13. The smaller the average pore diameter of the activated carbon, the stronger its adsorption for BT and the higher the activation energy required for BT desorption on its surface. The Freundlich adsorption isotherm model can be properly used to formulate the adsorption behavior of BT on the activated carbons.

本文引入了一种创新的基于离聚物的多层封装胶膜用以代替传统双层玻璃光伏组件的封装材料。利用该封装胶膜,在不需要额外的边缘密封的情况下就能防止水汽渗透。本文分析了这种封装胶膜及其原料——聚(乙烯-共丙烯酸)和离聚物——在不同气候条件下的自发吸湿和解吸。相对空气湿度是这些逆过程的热力学驱动力,并决定了其平衡含水率(equilibrium moisture content, EMC)。空气湿度越大,EMC也越大。被吸收的水分子的均质化是一个扩散控制过程,其中温度起主要作用。然而,其在较高温度下扩散系数仍相对较低。我们认为,当光伏组件在正常气候条件下使用时,基于离聚物的封装胶膜可“呼吸”水汽,即在白天相对湿度较高时,它会“吸入”(吸收)水分并将其限制在组件的外边缘内,而在夜晚相对湿度较低时,它则会“呼出”(解吸)水分。通过这种方式,封装胶膜可以保护电池免受水汽的侵入。

Enrichment of CO from syngas with Cu(I)Y adsorbent by five-bed VPSA

摘要: Cu(I)Y adsorbent was prepared by reduction of Cu(II)Y which was prepared by ion exchange between the NaY zeolite and a solution of Cu(II) chloride. The dynamic adsorption capacity of Cu(I)Y for CO was calculated by adsorption breakthrough curve measured on a fixed bed at 30°C and 0.006 MPa (g) of CO partial pressure. The calculated CO adsorption capacity was 2.14 mmol/g, 37.5 times as much as that of NaY zeolite. The adsorption breakthrough curve experiment was also simulated with Aspen Adsorption software and the results were approximately consistent with experimental results. Then a five-bed VPSA process for separating CO from syngas on this adsorbent was dynamically simulated with Aspen Adsorption software with the adsorption pressure of 0.68 MPa (g) and the desorption pressure of -0.075 MPa (g). The results showed that CO was enriched from 32.3% to 95.16%–98.12%, and its recovery was 88.47%–99.44%.

Biosorption of Cd

摘要: The biosorption of Cd and Cu onto the immobilized ( ) was investigated in this study. Adsorption kinetics, isotherms and the effect of pH were studied. The results indicated that the biosorption of Cd and Cu on the immobilized was fast at initial stage and then became slow. The maximum biosorption of heavy metal ions on immobilized were observed at pH 4 for Cd and Cu . by the pseudo-second-order model described the sorption kinetic data well according to the high correlation coefficient ( ) obtained. The biosorption isotherm was fitted well by the Langmuir model, indicating possible mono-layer biosorption of Cd and Cu on the immobilized . Moreover, the immobilized after the sorption of Cd and Cu could be regenerated and reused.

在不同工艺阶段通过可控调整吸附剂性质实现高效吸附和脱附是非常有吸引力的。然而,传统的吸附剂由于其固定的活性位点而难以实现这一目标。因此,我们将具有顺反异构体的偶氮苯衍生物引入铈掺杂的介孔氧化硅中,构筑了一种光响应智能吸附剂。这些光响应基团具有“分子开关”的作用,能够遮蔽或暴露活性位点,从而实现吸附剂的高效吸附和脱附。掺杂了铈元素的吸附剂可以提供额外的活性位点,进而提高吸附剂吸附性能。结果表明,偶氮苯顺式异构体能有效遮蔽活性位点,使吸附剂对亚甲基蓝(MB)和亮蓝(BB)进行选择性吸附,而其反式异构体则使活性位点暴露,导致吸附质释放。这些智能吸附剂通过光刺激能够可控地实现选择性吸附和高效脱附。此外,经过5次循环后,材料的性能保持良好。

A two-stage deep freezing chemisorption cycle driven by low-temperature heat source

摘要: A two-stage chemisorption cycle suitable for deep-freezing application driven by low- temperature heat source was proposed. Through two-stage desorption processes, the two-stage cycle can break through the limitations of the heating temperature and ambient cooling temperature. The two-stage cycle based on CaCl /BaCl -NH working pair can utilize the heat source with a temperature of above 75°C, and simultaneously realize deep-freezing all the year round. Experimental results and performance prediction show that the adsorption quantity of calcium, theoretical coefficient of performance (COP) and optimized specific cooling power (SCP) of the CaCl /BaCl -NH chemisorption system are 0.489 kg/kg (salt), 0.24 and 120.7 W/kg, when the heating temperature, ambient cooling temperature, pseudo-evaporating temperature and mass ratio of reacting salt and expanded graphite are 85, 30, -20, and 4∶1, respectively.
